Your connection string:

Using the tnsnames entry:
URL=jdbc:oracle:oci:@<service name>

Using with the tnsnames entry:
URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@//<your-server>:1521/<SID>

Using the failover connection string (as a single line):
URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION =(ADDRESS_LIST =(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = p-myserver.iselfschooling.com)(PORT = 1521))(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = a-myserver.iselfschooling.com)(PORT = 1521 ))(LOAD_BALANCE = no)(FAILOVER = yes))(CONNECT_DATA =(SERVER = DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME =mydb.iselfschooling.com)(failover_mode =(type = select)(method = basic)(retries = 180)(delay = 10))))
