 Introduction

More Resources by Google:

The impetus behind this A+ package, which contains a book and training CDs is to provide a complete teaching environment for all students who are planning to become A+ certified. One has the option to purchase only the book or the book with a set of CDs. The CDs are created as movie modules. The CDs include many hours of presentation by an experienced A+ instructor.

We realize that a vast portion the A+ candidates may not possess the required hardware and software knowledge and experience to pass the A+ Certification exams.

In order to become certified in A+, you must pass 2 separate exams, which are:

The A+ Core Hardware exam (220-201)

The A+ Operating Systems exam (220-202)

You can schedule the exams to be taken in one session or two separate sessions at a convenient testing center near you. To obtain more information about the exams contact Contact CompTIA on the Internet at: http://www.comptia.org

Our goal is to provide a step-by-step easy-to- use training material that can be used both by the novice and experienced individuals to prepare for the above exams.

The training materials consist of a manual, which is divided into two parts.

Part I covers Computer Hardware. In part I, we start with an introduction to Decimal, Binary and Hexadecimal systems. We show how the data is represented in these formats and we illustrate the conversion process from one format to another. Next we cover all the hardware components including System Board, Processor Types, System Memory, Expansion Slots and Ports, Peripherals, Storage Devices, Hardware Configuration, System Assembly, Printers, Network Components, Internet Connectivity and System Troubleshooting.

Part II presents a comprehensive coverage of different Operating Systems required by CompTIA for A+ Certification. We start this part by an introduction to basic DOS commands and we proceed to other Operating Systems including Windows 9x (95 and 98), Windows NT (4.0) and Windows 2000.

All the key facts have been presented in each subject and all of the unnecessary information has been remove to speedup and improve your learning experience.
