Description:
This individual will support our clients by modifying, creating and
tuning Oracle databases and OID. The DBA will primarily be setting
up, programming or adjusting servers using Linux with Oracle, Java. Must be able to
install, deploy, tune and modify, and set up Oracle Application
Servers. Java
experience is a plus. Must document all work and provide
general instruction of primary users.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
The Oracle DBA (DBA) role
is to support existing Oracle based application, Oracle Application
Servers and Oracle Internet Directory. Duties to
include performing database maintenance, technical support,
supporting on-going application development, installation and
upgrades of Oracle, Application Server, OC4J and OID at customer sites.
DBAs should have:
• 8+ years Oracle
Database Administrator experience
• 6+ years Oracle
Application Server, OC4J and OID experience
• 10+ years Technical
Support Experience
• Excellent
Troubleshooting Skills
• Excellent written and
oral skills
• The ability to
perform local travel (DC, VA, MD) as well as occasional long
distance travel.
• Proven experience
with Oracle 11g in a UNIX Environment.
• Proven experience
with PL/SQL
• Oracle Certifications
in 11g or lower
Experience
• Knowledge of Oracle
10g & 11g (must)
• Knowledge of Oracle
Application Server, OID and OC4J (must)
• Tuning and
troubleshooting Oracle instances
• Building databases in
different environments
• Installing Oracle on
Linux/UNIX
• Writing and
optimizing code in PL/SQL
• Experience
configuring and maintaining highly scalable environments
• Knowledge of Oracle
RAC is preferred
• Knowledge in Oracle
Backup/Recovery Methodologies and Strategies
• UNIX Administration
knowledge
• Knowledge of
Microsoft IIS is preferred
• Knowledge of
Microsoft Windows 2000/2003
• Independent position
requires excellent organizational skills
• Ability to
communicate with upper level management on client site

**Job requires on call
hours evenings and weekends and generally requires more than 40
hours
per week.**
Education
• College degree or
equivalent work experience

Hours:
The basic work hours
shall be as stated in the Contract, however, special assignments may
require periodic adjustments to accommodate the schedules of the
clients. This may include early morning, late evening and some
weekend work.
