Duties and
Responsibilities:

Receiving trouble calls through the client's Helpdesk;

Act as project coordinator in the introduction of new
systems and applications;

Evaluate and recommend hardware/software;
-
Act as liaison between their clients and other IT
organizations;
-
Install and troubleshoot hardware and software;
-
Provide training and documentation for standard
systems and applications;
·
Utilization of the client Trouble Management Ticketing System
to track assignments and remediation of trouble tickets;
·
Diagnosing and resolving problems in response to reported
incidents;
·
Researching, evaluating and providing feedback on problematic
trends and patterns in customer support requirements;
·
Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining
customer hardware and software, including:
o
Microsoft Windows XP
o
LINUX
o
UNIX/SOLARIS
o
MCINTOSH
o
Microsoft Office 2003 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Project, etc.)
o
Blackberry Desktop Manager
o
Lotus Notes and Microsoft Outlook email clients
·
Developing and managing customer service performance
requirements; and
·
Developing customer support policies, procedures, and
standards.
Selective Factors:
This position requires
mastery of and skill in applying IT problem management methods and
practices. The qualified candidate must hold a valid certificate on
"Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)
certificate, UNIX/Solaris, and LINUX.
Contacts:
Daily work assignments
shall be coordinated with and status reported to the Chief, Division
of Technology Services.
Hours:
The basic work hours shall be as stated in the
Contract, however, special assignments may require periodic
adjustments to accommodate the schedules of the clients. This may
include early morning, late evening and some weekend work.
